Ultra Throw Excels at Indoor Championships

Five dedicated athletes from the Ultra Throw Club braved icy roads and winter travel to compete at the BC Athletics Indoor Track and Field Championships in Kamloops on March 6, 2026.

Travelling from Vancouver, Quesnel, and 100 Mile House, the athletes faced challenging winter conditions to reach the competition. Their commitment and perseverance paid off, as each athlete delivered strong performances and proudly represented the Ultra Throw Club.

Their results demonstrate the strength of our club across multiple age groups and throwing disciplines.

Outstanding Performances

Jim Dyer (Age Group 80–84)

Jim delivered an exceptional performance in the throws:

  • Weight Throw – 14.00 m — Gold Medal

  • Shot Put – 8.64 m — Silver Medal

MarcelKosierb (Age Group 65–69)

Marcel showed impressive versatility across multiple events:

  • Shot Put – 7.72 m — Gold Medal

  • Weight Throw – 7.71 m — Gold Medal

  • Triple Jump – 6.35 m — Gold Medal

Jaswinder Pannu (Age Group 60–64)

Jaswinder added two podium finishes to the club’s medal count:

  • Weight Throw – 7.71 m — Silver Medal

  • Shot Put – 8.34 m — Bronze Medal

Shawn Stevens (Age Group 50–54)

Shawn continued his strong indoor season with two solid performances:

  • Shot Put – 11.13 m — Silver Medal

  • Weight Throw – 13.39 m — Silver Medal

Sebastian Bodi (Age Group 15–17)

Representing the next generation of throwers, Sebastian delivered an impressive result:

  • Weight Throw – 17.07 m — Silver Medal

A Proud Day for Ultra Throw

The athletes’ dedication to training and their willingness to travel through difficult winter conditions reflect the spirit and commitment that define the Ultra Throw Club. Competing across multiple age groups—from youth to masters athletes in their 80s—our club continues to demonstrate that passion for the sport has no age limits.

We are incredibly proud of these athletes and their achievements at the BC Masters Indoor Championships. Their performances are a testament to hard work, perseverance, and the strength of our throwing community.
